1/1/2023 0 Comments Oregon weather os softwareWeatherlink for Mac v6.0.3ĭavis released a new downloadable update for WL for Mac to v6.0.3 in July 2015 which can be found at. The information that we do have is listed below. If this fails to help then we suggest that you contact Davis support in the US ( or phone +1 5) where there should be more specific Mac expertise available. *Because of the very small number of UK users of Weatherlink for Mac, there is less support expertise for the Mac product available here in the UK. The 6520 Weatherlink for Mac pack is likely to disappear from sale as such given that its software is obsolete, but the USB logger from a Weatherlink for Windows pack can be used directly in a Mac provided some other Mac-compatible weather station software is installed. The USB logger in the 6520 Weatherlink for Mac is (and always has been) identical to the logger in the 6510USB Weatherlink for Windows pack and so can be cabled to any computer type (whether PC or Mac or anything else) that is running compatible software. If some software feature is especially important to you for use with a Mac then this needs to be checked against the Mac feature-list before buying and setting up the Mac version. The Windows version outsells the Mac version by a considerable margin and therefore traditionally Davis has focused its development effort on the Windows version. So please do not assume that all features in the Windows version are present in the Mac version – they are not. Please note: The Davis 6520 Weatherlink for Mac software does not implement all the features present in the Weatherlink for Windows version. CumulusMX, to be clear, is multi-platform and the standard version should run on Macs (with appropriate Mono support, as per installation instructions). But other options such as CumulusMX (free) or Weather Display are also available for Mac. Users wishing to run weather station software on a Mac should check out the Weathercat program which seems to be the best-received and most popular alternative. *Given the effective demise of Weatherlink for Mac, there is the question of what alternatives there might be. The notes below will be left in place for now, but will become increasingly outdated. So no future version of Weatherlink for Mac is planned. Davis have also completely discontinued development of Weatherlink for Mac in favour of encouraging use of their cloud platform at, which is of course accessible by any modern browser including Safari on a Mac. Weatherlink for Mac is a 32-bit application and OSX versions from Catalina onwards will not run 32-bit programs (at least, not in any straightforward way). ! Important: Weatherlink for Mac is effectively obsolete as of about May 2020, unless perhaps you are still running an older version of OSX.
